Chapter Head - Los Angeles
Education University of California, Los Angeles
Location Los Angeles, Nairobi, Baroda
India, Kenya, United States: 3 different countries, 3 different continents, 3 different perspectives. I was born in India, lived in Kenya for a few years, and moved to the United States by the age of 5. While it may seem farfetched to say that the experiences I had in the first few years of my life shaped who I am as a person today, I attribute it all to those few years. My parents moved my family in search of better opportunities, and due to this, I have always been one to take advantage of every opportunity I am given.
Coming to UCLA (#gobruins), I carried this attitude with me and got involved with different organizations from the get-go. Not only did I meet some of my closest friends who I now consider family, but learned much more about myself and what I want to do with my life and the impact I want to make. I was always passionate about business, and found that investment banking was a career path that culminated my skill set and interests. With that said, I interned at a couple boutique investment banks throughout college (among a couple companies in other industries) and am excited to say I will be returning to the LA office of Citigroup for full-time in a couple of weeks.
Going forward, I am excited not only to start my career in investment banking, but also to create a bigger impact. Mentorship has been a huge passion of mine and I truly attribute my experiences to the mentorship I have received and the people I have met. I look forward to meeting more of the Leaders members and learning from you all!
I AM HAPPIEST WHEN...
I am with friends--new and old. I have always been a people person, and I truly am the happiest when I am engaging with different people, learning about their experiences, and sharing stories about mine. (A tub of ice cream is an added bonus.)
